Now we take name, address, phone, email, and any load photos. Stored encrypted on a UK-hosted server, tied to a booking reference.

Your booking reference is scanned at the licensed Merseyside transfer station. Weight and load ticket are held against the job for our EA duty of care.

Waste-carrier duty needs 2 years; HMRC needs receipts for 6 tax years. We cap at 5 for you, then auto-delete personal fields on the first of the next month.

What is ICO data-protection registration and why does a rubbish crew need it?
The Information Commissioner’s Office keeps a public register of every UK organisation that processes personal data. Anyone holding customer names, addresses, or payment details must register annually under the Data Protection Act 2018 — including rubbish removers who book jobs online.
What personal data does Rubbish Removal Liverpool actually hold?
Name, address, postcode, phone, email, load photos you send us, arrival window, payment reference, and the transfer-station load ticket. No marketing profile, no cross-site tracking cookies, no data-broker exchange.
How long do you keep my booking after the job is done?
Two years is the legal minimum for waste-carrier duty of care under the Environmental Protection Act 1990. We cap total retention at 5 years for accounting; personal fields are auto-deleted on the first of the month after that.
Can I ask for my details to be deleted sooner than 5 years?
Yes, after the 2-year waste-carrier duty-of-care window closes. Email the DPO address or call the office — first reply within 24 hours, deletion certificate issued within 30 days as required by UK GDPR Article 17.
Do you share my details with anyone else?
No. We never sell, licence, or share personal data with marketers, brokers, or partner companies. The only external processors are our card gateway and email host, both UK-based and DPA-compliant, and both listed in our privacy policy.
Where is my data physically stored?
On a UK-hosted server in a Manchester ISO 27001-certified data centre. Encrypted at rest with AES-256 and in transit with TLS 1.3. No replication or backup copies to servers outside the UK.
What happens if there’s a data breach?
Under UK GDPR we notify the ICO within 72 hours and email every affected customer directly with what was accessed and what to do next. We’ve had zero notifiable breaches since we started keeping records.
How do I check what you already hold on me?
File a Subject Access Request — email the DPO with your booking reference or postcode. We reply within 24 hours and provide the full export as a PDF within 30 days, free of charge as required by UK GDPR Article 15.
